    LaVerne Redfield, 83, of Ludlow, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 28, , surrounded by her loving family.  A devout Christian and proud Kentuckian, she leaves a remarkable legacy distinguished by her humor and her unwavering devotion to the Lord, her family, and those in need.

    LaVerne dedicated her life to her family. In addition to raising her own sons, Ryan and Eric, she played a key role, for over 15 years, in providing childcare for several of her grandchildren-instilling in them her Christian values, positive attitude, sense of adventure, and the importance of serving others.  LaVerne took immense pride and joy in her five grandchildren, Jordan, Shannon, Adam, Alex, and Sam. They were the light of her life. Her legacy will live on through them.

    LaVerne is survived by sons Eric (Amy) and Ryan (Sara) Redfield; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister Jean Gibbs; brother Presley (Sue) Young; and several nieces and nephews. 

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Redfield (6/24/), her brother William Noel "Bill" Young and parents Marie and Bill Young.

    A Celebration of Life for LaVerne will be held at the convenience of the family.
